On-Leash Obedience
Description: Is owning a well mannered dog not as easy as it looks on social media? Are you struggling with embarrassment from trying to walk your dog only to get practically dragged down the street? Or perhaps you are looking to prevent issues like this in the future. Learn how to make your life with your dog easier and less embarrassing by teaching obedience skills such as sit, down, heel, go to your bed, come, stay, leave it, and loose leash walking. We will also address pesky and mortifying problem behaviors such as counter surfing, door dashing, jumping, barking at the door, and leash pulling. For our private lessons, we can meet in any place of the owner’s choosing. We will teach your dog to behave in all the environments you regularly visit with your canine friend and teach you how to handle new environments and distractions. This course will be tailored to your needs. This course is typically completed in 4-6 weeks. We will meet two times a week, this is so you have to do less!

Off-Leash Obedience
Description: Are you an active household who enjoys exploring, hiking, camping, maybe even skiing, and you want to bring your dog along on these adventures but the leash is a nuisance, your dog doesn’t listen and will go after wildlife, run up to other dogs and people, and overall is a risk off-leash, or maybe you want to bring your dog and he behaves on the trail, but when you stop to grab coffee your dog is pulling on the leash, whining, and won’t listen. If this sounds like you, we can help! We understand the importance of Colorado adventures and having a well behaved dog on the adventure, at home, and even when you stop to refuel. We can teach your dog the obedience skills he/she needs for all situations on and off-leash, by the end of this course your dog will be able to sit, down, stay, heel, come, place, and leave it on and off-leash, in many situations. We can also help with embarrassing problem behaviors like counter surfing, door dashing, jumping, and barking at the door. This course is normally completed in 5-8 weeks. We will meet twice a week to ensure optimal training.

Unless it is an off-leash designated area or the owners’ home, the long-line will be used for legal reasons.

Behavior Modification
Description: Are you walking your dog in the dead of night or early in the morning to avoid other people and dogs? Is your dog dividing your family? Have you not been able to have guests over because they are afraid of your dog? Maybe you have tried training before and it didn’t take, so now you think you might have to consider euthanasia. We can help, our favorite cases are the ones who are truly struggling and we understand the hardships of owning such dogs. We are well versed in many different methodologies to help rehabilitate dogs with many different behavioral issues including; biting, growling, barking, lunging, fearful behavior, reactivity, dominance aggression, and more. Let us help you by rehabilitating your dog and giving you a reason not to live in fear and/or embarrassment. This course can take 4-10 weeks, depending on the severity of the behavior. We will meet twice a week, for optimal training.

To Note:
The trainer can not guarantee what tools the dog may need prior to training, tools including slip leash, prong collar, and e-collar.
In the event that a dog owner needs to buy a training tool, the trainer is willing to hold future sessions until the owner receives the training tool, free of charge.
Training sessions may need to start in the pet owners’ home, until the trainer deems the dog is safe and the handler can control the dog in a different environment.

Grooming Acceptance Short Course
Description: In this course your dog will learn how to be patient and accept grooming. If you’re struggling to find a groomer to groom your dog, you have to get your dog sedated for grooming, or you groom your dog at home and have found your dog is not sitting still, biting, growling, or otherwise showing stress, this course is for you. We will teach your dog to accept and enjoy all aspects of grooming. In this course, we will work on calmness for bathing, blow drying, nail trimming, paw pad scoop, and brushing. This course takes 4-6 weeks. We will meet twice weekly for this program.

Grooming Acceptance Long Course
Description: In this course we will teach your dog to accept all aspects of grooming. In this course we work to teach your dog to be calm for blow drying, nail trims, paw scoops, bathing, brushing, and a full body trim. This 6 week program is best suited for doodles, poodles, and other breeds that require regular full body trims, extra scissor work, and have more grooming needs than a short coated or double coated breed. This course can take 6-8 weeks. We will meet twice weekly for this program.

Start To Finish Service Dog Training
Description: Service dogs are very helpful to individuals with disabilities, whether you’re a parent with a disabled child or are disabled yourself and think you could benefit from a service dog, we can help! Specializing in psychiatric service dogs (dogs for PTSD, anxiety, autism, adhd, and other psychiatric disabilities) we can help personalize your service dog to fit your individual needs. By the end of this course, your dog should be able to work in a number of environments, and be totally focused on the handler. The dog will be able to task in challenging environments and understand how to cope in strange situations. And it does get strange, I am talking about a person with a chicken head staring at your dog, your service dog will be able to stay in obedience and task in this, and in other strange scenarios. This program includes the above course goals and more.
Goals:
Handler understanding of the ADA, FHA, Service dogs in the workplace, and transportation laws.
Dog is able to stay in obedience, be able to task, and act composed in all environments (grocery stores, fairs, zoos, farmer’s markets)
Handler understanding how to regain control of the service dog, should the service dog get distracted.
Dog understands tasks that the service dog user needs (tactile stimulation, deep pressure therapy, crowd control, tethering, meltdown response, and more.)
Socialization to a variety of stimuli (escalators, elevators, loud noises, other dogs, heeling in a crowd, traffic noise, and more)
Timeline:
This program will be about a year of training, longer if necessary, we will continue working with your dog until he/she is able to task and comfortably exist in both your everyday life and last minute vacations. We will meet once a week, in a multitude of locations (depending on where your dog/puppy is in training) until your dog is tasking and behaving like a professional service dog.
