Q. What training methods do you use?

A. Crystal Canine uses balanced methodologies, this means we are able to fully customize by using less or more “yes, good job.” And, “That’s not quite right, let’s try this instead.” This method allows us to communicate with our dogs in ways they understand.

Q. Do you use tools?

A. We use numerous tools, the tools we use are dependent on the dog we are working with. We usually use slip leashes or e-collars, we may use prong collars for more extreme cases. If the owner is not comfortable using a certain tool, we will not put it on the dog.

Q. What types of dogs do you train?

A. Crystal Canine specializes in obedience training, so dogs can experience more freedom. We really make a point to train dogs for realistic life experiences, such as; leaving food on the ground. We also train dogs with behavioral problems, severe or mild. We occasionally train service dogs for individuals with disabilities.

Q. What does private training look like?

A. Private training is where we come to you. We usually start in your home or where your dog is exhibiting a problem behavior, we will work begin in a place with low distractions and our end goal will depend on you! If you want to take your dog to pet friendly stores, we will work in pet friendly stores, if your goal is off-leash reliability on a trail, we’ll go for a hike.

Q. How often do you come for training?

A. We come for training twice a week, this means more work on us, and less on you!
